GMA NEWS: OCT. 23, 2013 Largest US education mission in PHL to be held Oct. 24-25 Representatives from 29 colleges and universities in the United States will be coming to Manila this week to promote their associate, undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate degrees to Filipino students. The event, the US Education Mission, to be held on Oct. 24-25, is the largest US trade mission in the country in recent years, according to the US Embassy in Manila. This shows that the US education sector is cognizant of the Philippines’ growing economy and the importance of quality education for Filipinos, the embassy said. They are also aware of the strong historical, socio-cultural, and political ties between the U.S. and the Philippines, it added. The participating US colleges and universities are: 1. Arizona State University 2. Birmingham-Southern College 3. California State University, East Bay 4. Community Colleges of Spokane 5. Concord University 6. CSU - San Jose State University 7. Foothill and De Anza Colleges 8. Hartwick College 9. John Carroll University 10. Lincoln University 11. Minot State University 12. Mount St. Marys College 13. Pace University 14. Roosevelt University 15. Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey 16. Saint Louis University 17. Southern Illinois University 18. St. Norbert College 19. Trine University 20. Troy University 21. University of Arizona 22. University of Central Florida 23. University of Idaho 24. University of Kentucky 25. University of Oklahoma 26. University of St. Thomas 27. University of Wisconsin Milwaukee 28. West Valley College 29. Western Connecticut State University Makati Shangri-La Hotel will host the event, which includes a seminar on studying in the US and a student fair. Filipino students and their parents are encouraged to visit the US Education Mission.
