GOD ONLY USES US WHEN WE ARE WEAK Exodus 3-4 Key Verse: And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? Exodus 3:11. 1. Midian At the mountain of God in Midian, the angel of God appeared to Moses as a burning bush that never burnt. Then God called Moses out of the burning bush and commanded him to remove his shoes as he was on holy ground and before the holy God. Indeed Moses not only had to remove his shoes but his sins in order to be holy before the holy God. There is no way Moses could lead and deliver the people of Israel out of Egypt unless and until he confessed and forsook his sins in his life. 2. Moses God could not use Moses when he was too strong as the Prince of Egypt. Only when God humbled Moses for the next 40 years in the wilderness, did he realised that he was too weak to be the leader and the deliverer of Israel. This was the time when God finally used Moses to lead and deliver the people of Israel. Let us remember that God has to humble us before He begin to use us for His work and ministry. 3. Mouth Moses confessed to God that he was too weak to be the leader and the deliverer because he was not eloquent and slow in speech. However God promised Moses that He shall be with him and his mouth, and teach him what he shall say to Pharaoh, the King of Egypt, to grant freedom to the people of Israel out of their slavery in Egypt. We are nothing without God. For when we are weak, then are we strong in God because Gods grace is sufficient for us. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christs sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10.
