More than this is from the evil one.(NET) Today, our Heavenly Father wants us to conclude our reflections on truthfulness and integrity. As we conclude, we want to emphasize that, anything beyond truthfulness and integrity, is from the evil one. Through this series, we have learnt what an oath is, how serious it is for us to, in as much as possible, avoid swearing and taking oaths, and also Jesus emphasis on us being truthful, confirming our confessions with actions. We have also learnt some of the reasons people lie, how abominable lies are before God and the benefits of being truthful etc. Beloved, our Lord Jesus Christ concluded His teachings on oath taking and integrity with the statement, Anything more than this is from the evil one . This statement is very serious. Anything that is not based on truthfulness and integrity is from the evil one. We have to ensure that our yes is truly a yes, and our no, a no. This implies that any money that comes by means of lies, deceptions and corruption is from the evil one. Any favour obtained through lies or a comprise of integrity is not from God but of the evil one. Any examination distinction achieved through cheating and compromise of integrity is from the evil one. It is interesting how God perceives some of the testimonies we make in Church. A lady ends up fornicating with her boss for her to get a job, yet dances and gives testimony that God has offered her a job. In the eyes of God, anything done out of compromising the truth and integrity, is from the evil one. I want to inspire us all. God is challenging us to do away with lies and uphold integrity. We have to mean and do what we say. God believes in us and has empowered us to say yes to truth and righteousness, and no to lies and unfaithfulness. Let us ensure that our yes, surely remains a yes. God bless you. Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for Your revelation. Since anything outside truth and integrity is actually from the evil one, please grant me the grace to live in truth and in integrity in all my ways. In Jesus name, amen. 🙏(Ps.
