GREAT counts at clinic, but Wilkes does not seem to be feeling - TopicsExpress

GREAT counts at clinic, but Wilkes does not seem to be feeling well, not sure if it is the CMV he tested positive for last week or the antibiotics he has been on to treat it or the age-old parental quandary--could this just be teething? The little fella has cut two teeth in the past few days and usually once they start coming through there are more soon to follow. Please be praying for wisdom and peace for his parents and the doctors to know for certain whether or not there is cause for any concern. The truth is he has come through so much of this nearly symptom and side effect free that since he was diagnosed this is the first time he really hasnt been himself. Please also be praying for supernatural grace over his body as he is not receiving chemo or steroids to keep the HLH at bay until he goes in on July 29 to start the megadoses. Lastly, I want to share a little story from history with you as it relates to prayer. There are various renditions of this story as I have researched it, but because it is repeated so many times I have to believe that at the core of it is truth. Napoleon found himself in violent battle in conquest of a particular island (rumored to have been Malta). He lost many men though they did eventually win. Soon after victory had been ascertained a young soldier, in the presence of Napoleon and many of his commanding officers, approached and boldy said, Sir, I would like to request that you give me this island. Immediately Napoleon summoned for paper and pen and made out a deed signing ownership over to the young soldier. Astonished by the notion that someone so seemingly insignificant would ask something so great of someone so significant and even more perplexed that the request had been granted, Napoleons officers began to grumble among themselves. Indignantly, one who outranked the young soldier by nearly a lifetime of military achievements asked Napoleon why, if so much blood had been shed to gain that ground, that he would entrust it to someone so undecorated and inexperienced. Napoleons reply silenced their murmurs: He honored me with the magnitude of his request. I want us to consider, not who we are when we come before the throne of God, because there is nothing about us we can bring to Him that impresses Him or obligates Him to honor our request. Rather, our faith in who He is alone, that He is the Author of all creation, and though the enemy has lawlessly assaulted what is rightfully the Lords, the Lord is still fully entitled to redeem His creation, and not only entitled if able, but entitled and fully able, according to His love, and power, and wisdom, in any way and at any time He chooses. So now and always let us go boldly before the throne and honor Him with the size of our request! What makes your request important to Him is not who you are but that you believe who He is! A small request makes small of Him, but a great request makes great of Him! Go boldly!
