Game 3 of a 7 game road trip had the Kings in Brooklyn facing the Nets. With a 1-1 record on this trip Sacramento looked to capitalize following their loss in Toronto. Right from the get go, Paul Pierce goes down with an apparent shoulder injury as Jason Thompson spun on him, his right elbow made contact with Pierces shoulder and down went Pierce as he didnt return to the game. Kevin Garnett was out for the Nets due to back spasms as well. The Kings fell behind early but kept it from getting out of hand as they were to scratch and claw their way back to even up the game at 57 a piece. After that, the game turned in Brooklyns favor as the Nets went on a 20-8 run to end the third quarter which was sparked by a bank shot by Jason Collins. The Kings were also careless with the basketball as they had 24 turnovers as the Kings fall to 1-2 on this road trip losing to Brooklyn, 104-89. It was a two-man wrecking crew for Sacramento as Rudy Gay scored 20 points, and DeMarcus Cousins stuffed the stat sheet with 28 points and 20 rebounds. Isiah Thomas scored in double figures as well with 10 points on a horrid 3-14 shooting. For the Nets, they were led with former King Marcus Thorntons 27 points off the bench. Joe Johnson scored 18 points and Deron Williams and Shaun Livingston both scored 10 points. The Kings look to break their 2 game losing streak on Tuesday as they head to the Motor City and take on the Detroit Pistons.
