Gather your family and friends because the Beer Club Meeting on the 29th will be a real winner. We will have 3 beers that put their respective breweries on the map! They include: PranQster from North Coast Brewing Co., a pioneer in the Craft Beer movement. North Coast Brewing Company opened in 1988 as a local brewpub in the historic town of Fort Bragg, located on California’s Mendocino Coast. Belgian Ales represent the height of the brewers’ art. Sophisticated brewing techniques, yeast blends, and unique flavoring elements have elevated the beers of Belgium to the status enjoyed by wine in other countries. PranQster follows in this tradition using a mixed culture of antique yeast strains that produce a floral nose, a fully fruity flavor and a clean finish. Moose Drool from the famous Big Sky Brewing Company in Missoula Montana. Big Sky Brewing Company was started by Neal Leathers, Bjorn Nabozney, and Brad Robinson. They brewed their first batch of beer, Whistle Pig Red Ale, in mid-June of 1995 and hit the market with it just in time for the 4th of July weekend. A couple of months later, Moose Drool Brown Ale and Scape Goat Pale Ale followed, and Big Sky Brewing Company was on its way. Moose Drool is an extremely drinkable brown ale that pairs well with most foods. It is brewed using four different malts, and has four hop additions made from a combination of East Kent Goldings, Liberty and Willamette and Liberty. Look for a subtle nose and pleasant afterglow. From the Abita Brewing Company down in Louisiana a special lager, Purple Haze. It has real raspberries added after brewing and filtration. It is brewed with pilsner and wheat malts and Vanguard hops. Remember to come for the happy hour from 6:00 to 7:00 before the meeting. On a sad note, the Tap Haus lost one of our family, Darrin Conrad who was a sous chef in our kitchen. He leaves three children, 19, 10, and 8. An account has been set up at the Parkway Bank, the Darrin Conrad Family Fund, for those who may want to help the family. We will also have a donation jar at the meeting.
