Gee, Rand, you are right! The media gave him a pass all right. Monica Lewinski? First time I have heard that name! As far as it goes, I once told Bill Davis, who professed outrage, that while as far as I was concerned, impeaching him over Monica was silly (and deep down Republicans know it), but I would be happy (this was in 1998, when I said this) to see him tried for war crimes, with the proviso that George H. W. stood in the dock with him. Now the Monica thing, while not impeachable IMHO, was tawdry, I have heard plausible claims that he raped at least two women. This would make him one of three presidents that I know of who were accused of rape. The others were Grover Cleveland and Ronald Reagan. Of course there may be others, but they are the only three I know of.
