Genocide is planned this weeks Torah. Pharaoh says to kill all the Hebrews, since they might join themselves to our enemies, and fight against us. It makes no sense. If it wasnt for Joseph the Hebrew, Egypt would have starved. Today Jews were killed by a man who stood in solidarity with the murderers of cartoonists. It also makes no sense. The juvenile humor of the cartoonists mocked both Muslims and Jews. In the days to come, some will try to give reasoned explanations for the killings of these Jews. Dont believe a word of it. Jew-hatred is never logical or reasonable. The dead were killed for one reason only: their existence as Jews. The only appropriate response is horror and outrage... and the resolve to persevere.
