Giridhar R Babu Dear All, We are looking for short term engagement of two research assistants/ field investigators. Their appointment will be for 4 months and will primarily be covering Bangalore and Chennai. Knowledge of local language is essential. There are other 8 positions in other locations of the country. Last date for application has been extended to 21.10.2013 Apply to: [email protected] Project Profile:- Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust has awarded a grant to PHFI for The emerging epidemic of diabetic retinopathy and retinopathy of prematurity in India: evaluation of existing programmes for screening and treatment, and using lessons learnt, to develop and evaluate an approach that strengthens health systems. The project involves data collection from eye hospitals and general hospitals from 10 cities in India from service providers and clients of services. Additionally leading eye care institutions from other cities beyond the 10 cities will also be included if they are known to be providing services using specific models. The data collection will be completed over 4 months. Job Description / Responsibilities: • Data collection through interviews and observation at specified hospitals. • Daily report to be submitted to Project Coordinator • Willingness to travel wherever directed for data collection • Co-ordinate with the study area government authorities, stake holders for smooth conduct of the study • Making log of work being done on a daily basis and sending feedback to the project investigator • Maintaining regular attendance of data collection team • Timely co-ordination with study location authorities • Ensure quality data collection during the study • Maintain and undertake internal and external communication as appropriate and advised Qualification: MSW/ Master’s degree Desired profile of the candidate – 1. Two years of experience of working on health/development projects 2. Have an understanding of community dynamics and mobilizing techniques 3. Excellent communication skills in the local language 4. Proven ability to have worked with the community 5. Have experience in doing satisfactory field investigations and interviewing
