Given travel writing is my business, I have to admit that sometimes stories are just work, or just routine. Occasionally they can even be a chore. Not this one. Had a great deal of pleasure writing it, and think this might end up a favourite for the year. Thanks to The Sydney Morning Herald - smh.au for letting me indulge in these occasional flights of fancy… If you want to know my travel-writing style, this is a good example. Containing as few facts as possible (isnt that what guidebooks are for?), but hopefully giving the reader the flavour of a place… and the desire to be there themselves.
