Gleamings from Temple Emmanuel; Proverbs 1:29; “Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the LORD.” As one with street smarts once said; “Action is what you do not take when the other guy is bigger than you are…advice is that which the wise don’t need and the fool won’t take.” It is fascinating that a person should acquire enough education that they shouldn’t have to look up to anyone. They should have enough wisdom not to look down on anyone; on behalf of that there is someone who perceive all in His omniscient manner to gaze down upon us if we choose to be so foolish. Let us not forget that there is only one way to acquire wisdom; “...let the fear of the LORD be upon you…” But when it comes to making a dim-wit of ourselves we have our choice of thousands of different ways, which ends in penalties of consequences. Also that a wise person is he begins to realize that his opinion is just an opinion, and God’s opinion is higher supported by His Word; so let us be wise to know when we are fighting for a holy principle, or merely defending a prejudice. Wisdom shout, cries out, and reaches out because she knows for a fact that it is impossible for us to think that what she offers is hereditary.
