Gloucestershire Sands has always supported the excellent bereavement care and work provided at Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General Hospital since we began nearly 6 years ago! We introduced and continue to solely fund the precious memory boxes that mean so much to the parents. Parents often comment on just how special the boxes are and what they mean up them personally. We fund study days at the trust and provide numerous information leaflets . One of the most important things we have ever done as a group was to completely fund the Snowdrop room on delivery suite for parents, it creates a little oasis to spend time alone as a family with their baby. At times very sadly we have needed 2 of these rooms at the same time and have been unable to provide for one of the couples , this was something that troubled both us and the hospital . Thankfully we have just been given the go ahead to create a further room for our parents which although its heartbreaking that we need too, its comforting knowing we can support the parents in this way. We couldnt carry out our support without kind donations from the public, mainly from other bereaved parents please know that every penny you donate really does go towards supporting a heartbroken couple in this county.
