“Go In God’s Power” Exo 3:11 And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? 12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain. 13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? 14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. While studying the life of Moses we find that the flesh can have much pride and think it can and will conquer anything. However, the longer that Moses lived and the lessons that life taught him, that issue with pride had not gone away, but was put aside with the awesomeness of the ONE that he would serve. What this man said in verse 11 reveals to us the way we need to think when asked to do something. Our confidence ought to be in our Lord – Pro 3:26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. The task of God’s people in the Lord’s church should be done in the power of Christ. God always gives us His power to do what He calls us to accomplish for His glory and honor. Perhaps you have been given the awesome task of working in the church in some area that might be overwhelming. Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Php 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. These are a few of the verses that we can lean on when the thinking is messed up inside of us. Our minds tend to bring us down when it comes to doing God’s work. What will people think? How will I be received? Can I do this project and please all the people? Will some laugh at me? When God calls you to His work, we must be reminded that it is His work and if He has called you to do it, He will give you the power to do it for Him. This work of God is just that, His work and He knows how to work it through willing people like us. Thank you Lord, for giving us what we need!
