God Chose You Before You Chose Him God chose you long before you chose Him. God took the initiative. The Good News translation puts it this way: You were chosen according to the purpose of God. Why would God choose you or me to be a part of his family? Because he is a God of love; he is a God of grace. The more you understand grace, the more youre going to be amazed by it. God chose you. Did you deserve it? Not a chance. Do you deserve to go to Heaven? No way! Are you good enough to be in Gods family? No. He just chose you. And thats good news. On what basis did He chose you? First Peter 1:3 says, For it is His boundless mercy that has given us the privilege of being born again so that now we are members of Gods own family. God chose you based on his mercy, not your performance. Youll never earn it. Youll never deserve it. You couldnt work hard enough for it. You couldnt be perfect enough. Its only because of Gods grace and mercy that the Creator of the universe says, I want you in my family. If that doesnt encourage you, youd better check your pulse. God makes really good choices just look in the mirror today. He has chosen you just say yes it will change your life forever. God loves us just the way we are but yet he loves us so much as to not leave us the way we are. He is not into religion that is what man keeps trying to do. God is into relationship and he wants that with you. You feel like you are at the end of your rope today. Give God a chance just try talking to him He is waiting to listen to you I promise. You will be amazed by what He says back to you. who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance. 1 Peter 1:2 NIV
