God Doesn’t Quit and Neither Should You Therefore, if anyone - TopicsExpress

God Doesn’t Quit and Neither Should You Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV) being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6 NKJV) At times, I can be a poor example of what it means to be a Christian. Just the other day I behaved in a way that I should not have towards someone who was rude and condescending towards me. When I should have looked at the situation as an opportunity to be a light, pride got in the way, and I responded in a shameful manner by letting angry emotions flow. There are times when we all do things we shouldn’t do, when we fall short of being a positive influence to others, when we fail to be the light to the world Jesus wants us to be. When this happens, we can either stay down or get back up. No doubt, there will always be those who refuse to see beyond your fallen state; they will not forgive but will hold your failures against you for the rest of your life. These people aren’t inspired by God, and you should not let their bitter feelings have mastery over the direction of your life. Their thoughts are not God’s thoughts. If you have repented and gotten back up, then you are no longer where you were before. That place of failure is in the past. To those who refuse to acknowledge this, you will always look like a failure, but in God’s eyes, you are forgiven (1 John 1:9). Question: Whom do you serve? The faultfinder who can’t find room in his or her heart to forgive you, or God who is merciful, gracious, kind, and patient? Don’t let unforgiving people keep you from moving forward. And more importantly, forgive others as God has forgiven you. If people want to hold on to your stained past, then that’s their choice. But that doesn’t mean you have to do the same. Receive the new life God wants you to have. Begin with a fresh start now by putting the past behind you and walking in God’s grace. Let God complete the work He has begun in you. Remember: God doesn’t quit, and neither should you. By Chris
