God Has a Better Ending for You “But the others said, “We can’t attack those people; they’re way stronger than we are.” They spread scary rumors among the People of Israel. They said, “We scouted out the land from one end to the other—it’s a land that swallows people whole. Everybody we saw was huge. Why, we even saw the Nephilim giants (the Anak giants come from the Nephilim). Alongside them we felt like grasshoppers. And they looked down on us as if we were grasshoppers” (Numbers 13:31-33, MSG). Have you ever been faced with a challenge and you feel like there is no way you can get past it? You feel like it’s a huge mountain and wonder how can a little person like you deal with this one? Well, I think that is how the Israelites felt when they went into the Land of Canaan and that is why in their own sight they saw themselves as grasshoppers. Ladies, I want to say to you that you are no grasshopper. I suggest to you today that your destiny is based on perception.1 Corinthians 2:9 tell us, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” (NLT) So my question to you is whose eyes are you seeing yourself through today? Are you using your past to define yourself? Are you using what your parents told you to define yourself? Or are you defining yourself based on God standards? If you read further, chapter 14 of Numbers tells us of another set of Israelites who had a different perspective. Joshua and Caleb in chapter 13: 8 said, “If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it to us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. These two young men knew their identities. They knew that they had God on there side so they did not need to fear the giants that were in the land. The way we view ourselves and our challenges can cause our downfall and/or delay our destiny. The Israelites viewed themselves as grasshoppers and stayed in the wilderness for forty years before they entered into the promise land. This trip was to take about forty days. The Lord knew that they were not ready to access what He had for them. Just like the Israelites the Lord has chosen us as His people and has great plans for us. Jack Zavada, a writer for About, says “many of us have a wrong idea of God’s opinion of us. We base it on what we’ve been taught, our bad experiences in life, and many other assumptions. “ However, 1 Samuel 16:7 tells us, “The Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” Today ladies, view yourself as God views you, not how you or anyone sees you. Here is an idea of how God views us: “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. “Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT) Take some time every day over the next few weeks to pray through your identity in Christ. You could choose particular identities to pray over or use the few listed below. How you do it does not matter. Allowing God’s truth to renew your mind is what matters. VICTORIOUS over Satan, sin and death (1 Corinthians 15:57; 2 Corinthians 9:15; Romans 7:23-25; 2 Corinthians 2:14) REDEEMED from slavery to sin (Romans 3:24; 8:23) SAVED from and FORGIVEN of all our sins (Colossians 1:14; 2:13). ADOPTED by God as his children (John 1:12, Ephesians 1:5; Rom 8:15) ACCEPTED by God (Ephesians 1:6) UNITED to Jesus (Colossians 2:9-10) Possess EVERY spiritual blessing (Ephesians 1:3) Brought CLOSE to God (Ephesians 2:13) DELIVERED from the power of darkness (2 Corinthians 4:3-4; Colossians 1:13) Prayer: I thank You that I am Your own handiwork. Your workmanship, recreated in Christ Jesus. Born anew that I may do those good works which You Lord have predestined and planned before hand, taking paths which You prepared ahead of time that I should walk in them, and living the good life which You have prearranged.
