God allows opposition for a purpose If there weren’t an opponent, an opposing side, God’s people would never be tried and tested. So God allows Satan to rise up and lead the opposition, to try and test His people. Opposition tests the faith, determination, and loyalty of those being opposed, to see who’s really got it and who hasn’t. It also causes those who are undecided about what or who to believe to reach a point of decision. It’s part of God’s sifting process to separate the wheat from the chaff, the good grain from the weeds, the sheep from the goats (Matthew 13:24-30; 25:31-33). The true sheep know the voice of the Good Shepherd and follow Him, and they will not follow a stranger (John 10:4-5). They won’t listen to or follow the voice of the enemies of truth. Those who are not willing to suffer and endure opposition for their faith quit and lose by default, but the genuine faithful followers call on God, and God always ultimately defeats the Devil and wins the victory! “Your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure … is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer” (2 Thessalonians 1:4-5). — Isaiah 40:31 NASB - Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. Galatians 6:9 NASB - And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary. Ephesians 4:1-2 NASB - I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing forbearance to one another in love.
