God told Adam not to EAT from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good & Evil in the garden, but Adam told Eve that they could not even TOUCH the tree... Had Adam not created a law for Eve to prohibit her from touching the tree, which was separate from Gods actual command of not to eat from eat, then it may have been possible that Eve may not have ever been tempted to go near the tree in the first place, which eventually led to her temptation to eat from it. For where there is no Law there is no sin. (Romans 4:15) Sadly, this is the exactly what many pastors still do today... Instead allowing Gods Grace to teach their congregation how to deny ungodliness (Titus 2:11-12), they put them under the old covenant Law as a way to keep them in line and away from giving in to sinful temptations that tempt them through their sinful flesh. By putting people under the Law, which the Bible says that Jesus delivered us from (Romans 7:6-7), theyre giving more power to the flesh and its carnal desires to keep sinning... All because they dont trust God to do it own His own by Grace, just like Adam didnt... The strength of sin is the Law. (1 Cor. 15:56)
