God’s Existence “The fool says in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.” Psalm 14:1 There are so many different beliefs, theories, and religions that the enemy wants the world to believe in order to distract them from the absolute certainty that God (THE GOD) exists. The enemy is crafty and deceitful. As John 8:44 says, “he is the father of all lies.” God has no need to prove to us that He exists. When the sinner repents and gives his life to God, his first thought at that moment isn’t “God prove it to me.” God’s existence is revealed, not proven. It is revealed through His word, testimonies, and simply by looking at the world around us. It is much deeper than mere evidence and artifacts from history. What God does do, is provide implications that support His existence. One of those implications is the argument of design. As science reveals and discovers this world and everything in it, everything has a certain order. This proves that this world and nature didn’t just happen or was a coincidence, but that there had to be a Designer. When we think about how everything has a purpose in this world and how everything is linked, we are just left in awe and can’t help but give glory to the one true God. The psalmist David even says in Psalm 19:1 that “the Heavens and declare the glory of God, and the skies proclaim the works of His hands.” While the Word of God was not intended to “prove” God’s existence, we see countless examples of His very being. From Genesis to Revelation, God has made Himself known to man! The Bible shows us the depth of God through His nature and His many names. In Genesis 17:1 we see that God is Almighty (El Shaddai). He is also known as El Elyon or God Most High, in Genesis 14:18. There are many different names, and through His many names, we see a glimpse of His nature. Not only does the Word describe God through His names, but it also shows us who God is through the very essence of His Nature. Scriptures teach us that it is difficult to truly grasp how big and eternal God is. God is infinite and without limitation! Not only is God greater that the entire universe, but He is present and active in it! HE lives!! By: Josue Lafontaine
