God’s thoughts give us the assurance of a future and a hope! These are qualities of God’s thoughts towards you: (a) He knows His thoughts: He is certain, definite and clear about what He wants for you. What it means is that ‘His thoughts are addressed to your name, person and life’. (b) He has not forgotten: The text reads “For I know the thoughts that I think (present tense) towards you’. He is still thinking, He has not forgotten. (c) Thoughts of peace: If the thoughts of God ever came to you clearly, you will experience the peace that it brings alongside. When we experience His thoughts, it is nothing missing, nothing broken! (d) God is not thinking of evil towards you: He is thinking of doing you good. For instance, some people say that malaria was from God to discipline man. No, evil does not come from God. (e) His thoughts have an expected end: Some got into trouble because they are not having correct expectation from God. Jeremiah 29:11 reflects the journey of Joseph from bottom to the top, but it all started as God’s thoughts towards him (Joseph). Joseph had a revelation of God’s thoughts towards him at an early age such that at every stage of his journey; in the pit, Potiphar’s house, prison and palace he was aware that God was there and he fulfilled his purpose on earth. Prayer: Lord I accept your thoughts concerning me; oh let them guide me and strengthen me as I journey to the top in Jesus’ name. AMEN!!!
