Going through yesterdays The Nation newspaper Dyson Mthawanjis article caught my eye. GROUPS DIFFER ON CABINET APPOINTMENTS. Young Politicians Union is advocating for youth inclusion in the cabinet based on the fact that; -60% of malawi population constitutes young people. -The other reason cited was the poor perfomance by them in the just ended polls hnce a better compasation was by including them in the cabinet. ON THE OTHER HAND GENDER CORDINATION NETWORK IS ADVOCATING FOR -50-50 men and women representation since DPPs manifesto is clear on gender equality,as outlined in chapter 7 where its documented that the party will ensure gender balance and equality of opportunities in the civil service.
