Would you like a wildlife vacation next to Yellowstone National Park, USA? well here is a personal invitation to join our family and share our Wildlife Dude Ranch and all that we offer to you for a week. Our ranch is family owned and operated, just as is the zoo, and has been on this site since 1923 as a dude ranch. The oldest and most historic in the region. It has the most idyllic of settings set in a high sided valley, with rugged cliffs and grassed valley bottom next to a pure clean river within the Shoshone National Forest , half way along the “most scenic 52 miles in the USA ” .Yellowstone Highway. We are 20 minutes from Yellowstone East Gate . We consistently get rated at 4+ stars and have only 9 exclusive log cabins , every one with unique and locally hand crafted furniture, the beds being simply beautiful Aspen log from local forests, the cabins are all unique in design and configuration that are spread out in the forest, most with mountain views and views of horses on the corral. We have a maximum capacity of 35 guests so it never feels busy and always is a personal feel to your experience. We are very well known for our wildlife tours and our photography opportunities. so if you love wildlife up close, you love horses and you love the fresh air of the high mountains the lodge is set at 6,600ft up in the Rockies, you will simply love the UXU. We are a specialist Dude Ranch providing our guests with full week Dude Packages, 7 nights full board, this includes for 2015 as many horse rides as you wish, guided tours to Yellowstone, trips to the Cody Night Rodeo June to August. and as much local river fishing as you can fit in. We have all you can eat style dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We provide all that you will need to have the most exciting or the most relaxing vacation you could desire. Our horses are hand picked for you to suit your experience and desires… laid back and slow for the beginners and energy and character for the experienced. We have quiet weeks for those who want to absorb the peace of the forest and family weeks where kids can make friends for life. We have activities every day if you want them, Horse drive and round up, scenic river rafting, children can paint a horse, make hats and we can have horse games when time allows, roping lessons and many more. What makes our Ranch so different and special is the character and western adventure you will embark upon, with cowboys sat by the fire each evening telling tall stories. We have a cowboy breakfast on a Thursday morning when you can ride early and arrive in the forest at our breakfast cook out site. There you will be served a freshly made cowboy breakfast while the horses graze. We will make your experience one to laugh and smile about for years to come. From $1498 to $1978 per week depending on the cabin you choose and time of the year for everyone above the age of 18 years old , 8 to 18 get a $300 discount . Below 8 years old we charge just $300 per week. We have a beautiful rustic restaurant furnished with locally made stunning tables and chairs making a natural experience whilst eating great wholesome western food. A inviting bar for those late night stories and staff that are here to look after every detail for you. A typical guide to a week at the Ranch : You can choose what you want to do we just want you to have the best nature and horse based relaxing vacation possible. SUNDAY – Check into your private Historic Log Cabin and get acquainted 2pm Begin arrivals and check into your cozy, historic cabin. 6pm Opening talk by the UXU staff, your new family, then introductions. 6.30pm Free welcome drinks on the decking Welcome Dinner. followed by drinks by the camp fire. MONDAY- Introduction to riding and choosing your personal horse for the week 7.30 -9am Hot and Cold Breakfast served in the Lodge . 9- 10.30am Guests at the corral. Introduction to your horse chosen for you and your experience, horse orientation, followed by short 1 hours ride. 12.30 Buffet style lunch in the Lodge 2pm Horseback ride following June Creek.to an old tepee site. 4pm Activities available. Fishing, walking, games. 5.00pm Bar chat time… and pre dinner drinks hour. 6.00pm Western Style Dinner 7.00pm Camp fire and cattle roping lessons. TUESDAY- Yellowstone Day 6.30-7.30am Hot and cold breakfast served in Lodge. 7.30am Guests depart for Yellowstone Picnic lunch in Yellowstone 7.00pm Guests return from Yellowstone 7.30pm Traditional Cowboy Cookout around camp fire with staff and entertainment. roping lessons. If not going to Yellowstone, riding, fishing etc is available all day long. WEDNESDAY- Long ride/Fishing options 7.30-9am Hot and Cold Breakfast served in Lodge 10-12pm First spectacular view Mountain ridge ride or leisurely riverside ride. 12.30 Buffet style lunch in the Lodge 2pm Extended Ride option /rest /fishing. or River Raft Ride if river suitable. For the children we have games afternoon and paint the horse with finger paints. 6.00pm Western Style Dinner in the Lodge 7.00pm Gather round the camp fire for tall tales and Cowboy fun. THURSDAY- Guest Choices Day 7.30am -9am Breakfast ride to cowboy cookout breakfast made in the forest. 10am More beautiful scenic trails on Horseback rides or Fly fishing. 12.30 Buffet style Lunch 1.30pm First drive in our 15 seater van into Cody (Shopping, River Rafting, (optional extra), Museum etc) 5.00pm Last drive into Cody. 6.00pm Cody Cattle Company for meal and singing entertainment. (optional extra) 8-10.30pm Cody Nite Rodeo For those not wanting to go to Cody or the Rodeo we have riding , fishing options all day or just relax by the river and sleep ! FRIDAY- Free choice Day. Horseback riding, fishing, hiking. 7.30-9am Hot and Cold Breakfast served in Lodge 10am All day ( typically 4 to 5 hours of riding) Horseback Ride with pack horses taking our lunch to the top of the ride. 6.00pm Western Style Dinner 7.00pm Horse round up into corrals with the wranglers. Be a real cowboy show the horse skills you have learned in the week. Shorter rides available all day . SATURDAY- Final Day checkouts 7.30-9am Hot and Cold Breakfast in Lodge 10am Shorter rides and relaxation. 12.30 Lunch served in Lodge Afternoon ride excitement to the top of the ridges with views over to Yellowstone and the Absaroka Mountains or simply along the river….take your pick. 6pm Dinner and farewells to our new friends. SUNDAY Departures before or after breakfast depending on flights etc. All rates include: Horse Drive and Roundup Nite, Cody Airport Transfers, Cody Nite Rodeo (June to Aug), Yellowstone Day Tour, Rafting Trip (river permitting), Fishing in the river that runs through the Ranch.
