Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen, I hope everyone is having a great night. I took it upon myself tonight, to read the article that mentioned my recent win as Madame Wob Dwiyet Usa 2013 on Dominica News Online. I have also heard many times that the comments are quite interesting. The first comment i saw was my moms response to everyone mentioning the length of my shorts at the creole day parade. I was born in America and havent visited Dominica in 5 years, so I am not used to the extremely warm weather as some others may be. As my mom stated, i simply went into town to see the parade as I have never seen it before, and had to be in town anyway. While watching the parade, Madame of Madames 2012 North America, Ms. Justina Henderson and I were taken by surprise when Mr. Raymond Lawrence urged us to join the parade, i felt really uncomfortable, knowing that i was not dressed for the occasion, only for the weather. I, a person who loves Dominica, and its/my culture more than anyone could ever imagine, would never do anything to tarnish the beauty and significance of Dominica/ Dominicans. I sincerely apologize for any misinterpretation about my outfit, but it is much better to ask questions than to slander someones name, and doubt their love and passion for something they wouldnt trade for the world. I understand that there will always be naysayers, but I was raised to go beyond them, and prove them wrong. I will do everything I can while I hold the title of Miss Wob Dwiyet Usa 2013 to continue putting Dominica on the map, and keeping Dominica on the map. As for the competition, I was so proud of all of my fellow contestants for putting in the hard work it takes to compete for the Miss Wob Dwiyet pageant. All six of us are cultural ambassadors for Dominica, and I hope that we will always be able to do great things for Dominica, Although we were unable to watch the show due to being part of the show, I have no doubts that we all did an amazing job. To those who believe my acting career has anything to do with my winning this title, I cannot speak on it because I do not know the judges, but please do feel free to discuss their decision making with them. I pray that all things negative will come to an end, and we will all be able to work together and continue working together to help Dominica rise beyond our wildest dreams.
