Good Friday morning, Hopkins County area......a very pleasant 67 degrees at my house this morning, with fog and everything damp from the very, very nice rain we got yesterday and last night.....I havent been out to check the latest on the rain gauge, but it was a much needed and nice rain.....look for cloudy skies most of the day today with a high of 86 degrees, some sunshine in the afternoon, then an overnight low of 66 degrees, with 20% chances for rain, both today and tonight!....We could use some more!!!.....Had a very enjoyable evening last night at the Stage Band Jazz Concert in the newly renovated City Hall Council Chamber....a great job by the SSHS Jazz Band!...Remember The Dixie Swim Club at Main Street Theater....a very good play, expertly done, or plan on supporting the North Hopkins Panthers in baseball play-off action tonight at 6:00 p.m., in Harleton or back at home tomorrow at noon!......The Sulphur Springs High School Theater Arts Department will celebrate a year of success with the Thespian Banquet tonight at 7:00 p.m. and Pat Green is in concert at Lake Fork tonight!....or stay home and gather your energy for a busy, busy weekend in Hopkins County with the Hopkins County Folk Festival, Black Jack Grove Days in Cumby, or the Sulphur Bluff FFA Auction in Sulphur Bluff, as well as concerts, fishing tournaments, Band Banquets, and more baseball on Saturday!......Paul tells us in the letter to the saints at Philippi, chapter 4, verse 12, I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. Contentment, as Paul teaches, is a learned attribute....something that we can practice and can trust in the Lord to lead us toward reaching....it begins by looking around us and seeing the many, many blessings that God has provided us with and noticing that there is always many others around us, who havent been blessed as we have....Contentment should be the cornerstone of our Christian journey....as God has promised to provide and care for us with our every need. On this beautiful day, following a wonderful rain, be content with the things God has provided and be blessed in all that you do!
