Good Monday Morning! Im in for Matt today. The clouds will - TopicsExpress

Good Monday Morning! Im in for Matt today. The clouds will once again be with us today, as we are stuck in the wedge again. However, the pattern will be short lived. By tomorrow afternoon we’ll see some clearing and the rest of the week looking tranquil. This evening into the first half on Tuesday is when we will have to monitor for inconvenient weather. This afternoon is an overall cloudy day. Temperatures not expected to rise much from where they are at right now. Southside might crack 40 this afternoon; most of us will stay in the upper 30s. Mountains may actually remain in the middle 30s this afternoon. Most of the moisture holds off until after sunset. The amount of moisture we get will be decided by the exact track of the coastal low that will be developing of the Carolina coast. We think the track it will follow will keep most of the moisture to our east, and we will be on the western fringes of it. However, just enough moisture and cold air will be available to perhaps mix some of the general rain expected to fall with some pockets of sleet and freezing rain as we advance into the overnight hours of tonight into the fist half of Tuesday AM. We do not anticipate a major event, but some ice will form on the elevated surfaces. We think areas north of Lynchburg have the greatest risk of wintry weather with this system. Temperatures will quickly climb above freezing Tuesday and all precipitation ends my midday. The rest of the week looks chilly, but with no looming rain or snow storms. Highs in the 40s and lows near 30.
