Good Morning Breaking News....! Thousands pay last respect to former CM Gamlin... President and PM condole the passing away of Jarbom Gamlin...! ITANAGAR, Dec 2: Thousands of people queued up to pay their last respect to their beloved former Chief Minister Jarbom Gamlin at Naharlagun helipad today when his body reached from New Delhi, after his demise at Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon on November 30 last. Assembly Speaker Nabam Rebia, Deputy Speaker T N Thongdok, Home Minister Tanga Byaling, PWD Minister Gojen Gadi, many Parliamentary Secretaries, MLAs, top Government officers were among the mourners seen paying floral tributes and last respect to the body of the departed soul. Wreaths were also placed on the mortal remains on behalf of the Governor, Gen. Nirbhay Sharma and Chief Minister Nabam Tuki. Later the body has been flown to Aalo and will be kept there for paying last respect by the people of the district before the last rite to be held on Wednesday. The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have condoled the passing away of former Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Jarbom Gamlin. In his condolence message to his wife, Shakuntala Gamlin, the President has said, “I am extremely saddened to learn about the passing away of Gamlin. “Gamlin made immense contribution towards the welfare of the people of the State of Arunachal Pradesh. His dedicated services as Legislator, Minister, Member of Parliament and Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh will always be remembered. In his death, the nation has lost a leader, who always worked for the common man,” the President said in his condolence message. “Kindly accept my heartfelt condolences and convey the same to other members of your family. I pray to the Almighty to give you and your family the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss”. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his condolence message said “I am deeply saddened to learn of the demise of Jarbom Gamlin. His contribution to the development of Arunachal Pradesh in various capacities will always be remembered. I convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and relatives.” The rank and file of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) led by its president Padi Richo deeply mourned the death of former Chief Minister Jarbom Gamlin. In a condolence meeting held here, Richo recalled the contributions of Late Gamlin as politician and Congress leader for all round development of state. His untimely demise is a great loss for the State, the APCC said. Congress leaders including ministers, deputy Speaker and members of frontal organizations attended the condolence meeting and observed two minute’s silence as a mark of respect to departed soul. Expressing sadness at the untimely demise of Gamlin, the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) said Late Gamlin will be remembered as a beholder of indigenous faith and culture and guiding person on preservation and promotion of our rich cultural heritage. His contribution towards over-all development of the state will be remembered by the people in years to come. The university fraternity also deeply mourned the death of former CM Jarbom Gamlin. In a condolence meeting, the faculty, officer/staff and students led by VC Prof. Tamo Mibang and Prof. Rachob Taba observed one minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul. The office was declared closed in the second half. VC Prof. Tamo Mibang and Prof. Rachob Taba also recalled contribution of former CM on the occasion. “The contribution of former Chief Minister Jarbom Gamlin towards society and its people and his work for the development of the state in the capacity of Chief Minister, Lok Sabha MP, minister and MLA shall always be remembered forever” said All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) President Byabang Joram. Late Gamlin was known for his kindness, commitment and dedication toward society, ANSU said and termed his death as loss of intellectual asset of the state. The Central Executive members of All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) also observed two minutes silence at its office here today and prayed for the eternal peace of departed soul. Parliamentary secretary, Tax and Excise Tapuk Taku expressed deep shock at the untimely demise of former Chief Minister Gamlin. The contribution of Late Gamlin towards development of our state while holding different ministerial berth were remarkable, Taku said in a condolence message. Remembering the contribution of Late Gamlin, Arunachal Pradesh Horticulture Produce Marketing Board chairman Kipa Niya in his condolence message said “We have lost one of the most magnetic and admired leaders of the state.” The Tagin Cultural Society also expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demises of Jarbom Gamlin. Lt. Gamlin was one of the dynamic leaders of the state, his immense contribution to the society will be remembered by the society for ever, TCS president Tabu Paktung said. Yesterday prominent politicians, Govt officers, senior citizens and general public attended a condolence meeting at Donyi Polo Namlo Ground Daporijo and mourned the death of former Chief Minister Gamlin. The Tarh Welfare Society (TWS), while mourning the untimely demise of former Chief Minister said, “Late Gamlin was a dynamic and vocal political leader the state has ever produced. The vacuum left by his untimely demise shall never be filled and his service to the people of Arunachal Pradesh shall be remembered in the years to come.” “With his demise our state has lost a man of conviction and strong values. The former CM Jarbom Gamlin will be remembered always by the people of state for his contribution, the Theravada Buddhist Society (TBS) of Itanagar chairman Chow Miko Longphong said in his condolence message. The Central Executive Commissioner of Arunachal Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers Association, while mourning the death of former CM, said the Association will always remember Late Gamlin for his yeoman service towards teaching community, particularly SSA teachers of the state. “We will always remember him for his straightforwardness and invaluable contributions to our Mishing community, said a representative of Mishing Community residing in Capital Complex. While mourning the death of former CM, Arunachal Civil Society (ACS) said ‘With his demise the state has lost one more torchbearer and unmatched politician whose contribution as students leader, Minister and Chief Minister is immeasurable. The Tanii Supuñ Dukuñ (TSD), apex body of Apatani community, while expressing deep shock over the untimely death of Late Jarbom Gamlin, said that not only Arunachal Pradesh but the country as a whole has lost one of the most capable leaders. “We have lost one of the most dedicated and committed leaders of the State and untimely demise of former Chief Minister Gamlin has created a vacuum which cannot be filled easily” said Apatani Cultural and Literary Society (ACLS), Ziro in a condolence message. Extending the football fraternitys sorrow over the death of former chief minister Gamlin, the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association general secretary Gensi Doke today termed it a great loss for the state. He was a revolutionary leader and as former president of the association helped us aim higher to improve football standards in the state, he said. All staff of the Arunachal Bhawan, Kolkata and Arunachal students led by DRC Bijoy Talukdar in a condolence meeting today deeply mourned the death of Gamlin. Idu Mishmi Cultural and Literacy Society, All Sangdupota Circle Youth Association, Arunachal Pradesh ITI Technical Union, Liromoba Circle Welfare Association, Kargu Gamgi Management Committee, Niti Vihar, Abotani Descendant Welfare Society, West Siang, the Arunachal Students Union Chandigarh (ASUC), the Galo Students Union (GSU), All Galo Students’ Union (AGSU) and Hirik Hiru Studends’ Union (HHSU) also mourned the death of former Chief Minister Gamlin. The officers and staffs of the Miao ADC office lead by ADC T Mara deeply mourned the untimely demise of former Chief Minister Gamlin.
