Good Morning! I am hoping that you bought you Turkey fixings and ready to start preparing it With 3 days left before Thanksgiving here are some tips to cut the stress and the counter clutter: Day 1: Today Time cut up all the fresh seasonings- celery, onions, bell pepper, etc. Cook your cornbread for dressing, season it into the dressing, cover and refrig so the seasoning can set in. Take turkey out to thaw out. Day 2: Pre-prepare fresh veggies - carrots, yams, green beans, greens or what ever your specials are. On Thanksgiving day, an hour before serving all ready to warmup. Season the bird of the day! Put in frig in its baking pan, this help the seasonings soak in deep. Day 3: Day before. Make all your desserts. While dessert are baking, make potato salad, green bean salad, prepare mac n cheese to stick in oven the day of. Thanksgiving Day morning! Put the Bird of the Day in the oven (depending on the time dinner is served cook, Bird of the Day the night before). Cook dressing, vegetables, mac n cheese, etc, be sure to allow enough time to cook before serving. I like to serve baked items straight from the oven! Set the table, prepare serving area, if possible, put all desserts in a specific area as well as the drinks. By taking these steps in advance will help relieve the pressure and you will be more relaxed when guest start to arrive. This will also help in the event you missed a few items at the store, you still have time pickup. Oooohhh! Please do not forget to include the family in the preparation, there is something everyone can do. Chop, stir, pour or the load the dishwasher as you prepare.
