Good Morning Sentinels, Patriots, Friends, and fellow Americans Well we got the hard part done, Monday. It’s sort of like going swimming in a cool lake, getting in is the tough part, but once you are in it’s not so bad. So where is your focus today? Where are your thoughts? Are you all in the news and what is happening in the world and this country? Are you spending time with family or friends? Are you spending your time by yourself? Are you reading your Bible and spending time in prayer? Are you trying to juggle some of these, and if you are which one are the important ones and take precedence? Did you notice the order that I placed these questions? There was a reason for that. It seems to me, and I hope that I am wrong with the majority of my readers here, that this is the way that most people are living their lives. Did you notice that I put God last on the list? I see more and more that people are talking less and less about God and what was taught in church Sunday and more about what is going on in the news. More about this happening over here, and that being taken away over there, and less about how God has done great things in our lives, and is continuing to bless his people, how He spoke through the Pastor in the message Sunday Morning. Or how Katie has memorized the 10 commandments. (Side note) Speaking of the big 10, does anyone remember the first 4? WITHOUT LOOKING! Sure, we all know, don’t steal, don’t lie, don’t cheat, wait, …..is there a don’t cheat? Oh, and don’t murder. But what about the first 4, cause all those are way down the list. Ok, go ahead and look, I’ll wait……….dumdeedum……..find them? Ok, I’ll give you a hint, they are in Exodus 20……….dummdeedumdeedum. See them? Did you notice that the first four (4) ALL have to do with our relationship to GOD? That’s 40% of the 10 Commandments! Bet you didn’t know that did you? But now you do, so what you gonna do with that information? Anyhow, it seems to me the more and more we seem to get focused on the events of the goings on around us, the farther and farther we seem to be getting from God. This country was and IS still founded on Christian principles, like it or not. And as we move farther from the Lord of Host, the Creator of Heaven and earth, the farther we slide down the slippery slope to the pit of hell. We wonder “why”? Because we have forsaken the only One who can truly change the course of time. The only One who can make things right. We, as a nation, have not only put God on the back burner, we have disregarded him completely. We have put Him in a little closet and closed the door, just to take Him out when we ‘need’ something, or something tragic happens in our lives. Well I ‘ve got news for you, unless we bring God back into our homes, our neighborhoods, our cities, our states, and this country, there is going to be a tragedy that we will all be calling on our God, THE God of Heaven and Earth, for help with.
