Good day friends! @pgeeman ministered to us yesterday on the topic he titled, ‘what it means to be spiritual’. Here’s a summary of what was said: Most times, walking in the spirit starts from the way we think. Walking in the flesh is also a way of thinking. When my thinking is aligned with the spirit, spiritual things birth forth, but when it is aligned to the flesh, it will birth ‘fleshy desires’. Sometimes, we bind the devil on issues that don’t have anything to do with him; the devil is not the problem most times - it is the flesh (1Cor. 2:12&14). In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus asked for the grace to overcome the flesh, not the devil, the devil is already defeated. Colossians 2:15 (KJV) says, ‘And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.’ A spiritual person sets his mind on the things of the spirit. That also means that “looking like a Christian” doesn’t make you godly. Spirituality is about how you think (Prov. 12:5). When you believe what the Bible says you are, you are half way there. At the root of who you are becoming is your thought pattern. This is because, your Thoughts become your Actions, your actions become your Habits and your habits become your Destiny. To change what you do, change the source of your raw materials. Why is it important to develop our spirituality? It is for the following reasons: 1. Against deception: The level of deception has & will increase. It is important for us to know the word of God so that we can overcome the world. 2. To improve our understanding: Know the word of God for yourself. Meditate on the word of God, align your thinking with it & live with it. Let the word of God be your supply. 3. To avoid distraction: The devil wants to come in & cause distractions, & the worries of this world on our shoulders. It is up to us to focus on the word of God always. When you align your thoughts with the word of God, then you will be like Jesus. Let us strive to place the word of God in our hearts 1st & receive His power to live our lives in accordance to the word of God.
