Good morning Beloit. It is 39 degrees and is windy. Hold on to your little ones so they dont blow away. We had one heck of a busy day yesterday. We really appreciated the support of our surrounding agencies who rolled in and offered a hand. This is part of what we call our Mutual Aid. Officers from Rock County, Town of Beloit and others can be requested when we need help with calls. We also appreciate when our brothers and sisters from the South roll in. I also wanted to thank all of you for your understanding with a delay to get to some other calls in the city. It might be worth it to try to explain to some who dont know how we have calls dispatched to us. When someone calls 911 or 757-2244 (the non-emergency number) the call taker will start to ask a series of questions to determine what priority of call it is. If the call is a robbery, something with a weapon, a physical domestic or something like that it will get a Priority 1, meaning it has to go out right now. Things like a parking complaint or a theft with no suspect would likely be a Priority 4. Everything else will end up in between. Things like the threat to life or a call in progress will require services quicker. That is why sometimes low priority calls take a long time to respond to when there are major events going on. Some of those high priority calls also require several officers for a longer period of time. You should know that if you call, we will always come out. It might take a long time, but we always come. I hope that this makes some sense. Have a great Thursday. Be safe, and be vigilant BeloitProud
