Good morning! My reflection for today: help me, my Lord and my God, help us. Every morning I thank You for the given day, for loving me and everyone of us, and I ask You to help me cheerfully accept whatever You have planned for me in my daily routine, thanking You up front for whatever will and will not happen today. I confess, my Lord and my God, that some days it is easier than others to thank You and ask for Your help...to have faith that You are listening to me. Today is one of those days when it is more difficult. Why? Because events are almost overwhelming me this morning. Our country is again at war, so we will kill; some equate aborting a human fetus, a living fellow human being, with health care for women; men in our society continue to be violent, against women and children: war is unending in the Ukraine and throughout the Middle East, with many killings and displacements of families taking place as a result; the Ebola tragedy is widespread in a particularly poor area of the world; and, our society continues to be unable to overcome racial and ethnic prejudices. I suppose I could say, well, they dont personally affect me so I will not allow myself to become overwhelmed. But, I dont live on an island, to use the expression. Together with everyone else, we are Your Body, so I care for every part. Help me...us...please. And, forgive me for even a momentary lack of faith in You. *** have a great day and take care
