Please also read the following message posted by Kear Lonergan: This is Kear Lonergan, posting on behalf of my Brother Kevin McQueen Lonergan II, the creator and resident artist of War Paint and McQ2. Last Thursday Kevin had a stroke at the youthful age of 41. Anyone that knows an artist knows that they support their livelihood with the underpriced artwork that they so diligently produce. The unfortunate thing about Kevins situation is that he also has to support a doting wife and a little girl who happens to harness her fathers talent. With this being said he will need some serious monetary support from those who love and support him. His shop will undoubtedly have to close due to the circumstances as it will take months/years to rehabilitate him and even then were not certain he will ever fully recover. Needless to say, whatever artwork of his that you have in your possession, hold on to it as it/they will NEVER be duplicated. He always said Ill paint another one when he is forced to sell a piece that he loved (or Jenny loved) to make ends meet. There is a twist now. A story of sorts. His artwork will forever be changed. I promise you that his artwork will continue, however the outer substance of it will never be the same. The first thing he grabbed with his only working hand (besides his wifes tearful cheek) was the King Size Sharpie that I carry with me at all times, just in case I feel like being the cool little sister that cant tag, after which he immediately snatched a blank notebook out of my other hand. I couldnt have been more proud. What he produced was pathetic to say the least. I was heartbroken. He was more heartbroken than I and that made the whole experience even sadder. His only functioning (less-dominate) hand is no match for his desire to mark blank space. He has no choice. It consumes him. Passion like that proves to me that our retarded Lonergan frame of mind is unavoidable. As much as artists in general annoy me and as much as I support and love all of them unconditionally, I still cant stand you. Youre all lazy, self-absorbed, ARROGANT as SHIT and if it wasnt for your friends youd starve to death. However...all of you still get away with surfing through life, doing what you love and proving to others that you dont have to have a pot to piss to be happy you only need soft tissue to take a dump.
