Good morning Weather Watchers! Rainfall was much more isolated than we thought overnight - a few areas saw 2-3 while overall most areas saw less than .50 - the first image is a rainfall totals map... I have a feeling that dry air was drawn into the system limiting more widespread totals- We do have additional chances of moisture this weekend and possibly into early next week... Sunday looks to be an active weather afternoon/evening with the potential of Severe Weather as a strong cold front is set to affect large parts of KS. Mon-Wed has POTENTIAL for significant rainfall. It depends where the front stalls. Models show it stalling South of US400 and North of the OK border. If this plays out- over running moisture would give Central through South Central KS heavy, potentially flooding rainfall. It is some we need to keep an eye on. The last image shows the CPCs long term image Sept 5-11 showing above average precip, There will be another strong cold front in the area during that time- lets see how models look as we get closer.
