Good morning and dear Shanta Barton-Stubbs I publicly state that NOW you understand why I work so hard. The churches are always wanting more people, more resources and do NOTHING for the community around them. When they give gas cards, food, etc its about getting the community to come inside to them and ID well thats a joke, what kind of ID for children. Its another form for the church to get funding. Five or so years ago I went on a retreat about the burden. After raising over half a million dollars for a mega ministry to build and be debt free ....All my secular contacts gave and running one of the most successful ministries at the church, rules of how to help PEOPLE Gods children became the model. It was sickening and hurtful oh but after the retreat I came away with a series called the Christ Culture and Commission. It wasnt popular with the churches but it revolutionized my life. I stopped attempting to deal with the church. My I and T were in tact ... my giving, attendance, dedication TOP of the line but when asking them to do for community children and their response made my heart bleed. God will take care of you and the children AND will cause your name to be great and when you encounter the pastor who just feels the need to explain that not all are like that, explain back I know but unfortunately the ones that are override the others because its one category. Challenge that pastor to give and to get his her Bretheren on board. Dont give ear to giving is down, attendance is slow, ...... just trust God and keep doing the work. This is real talk and good advice and NO we ARE not bitter or jaded, just truth talkers. As a matter of fact follow us on FB and youll see we are happy people. But alert and aware of foolishness.
