Good morning beloveds. Tuesday is a great day to reflect and check-in with our best friend and steadfast love ... Jesus. I think this is so awesome that when we have a friendship with Jesus, our lives take on a completely new quality and nature. We are indwelled by His Holy Spirit. This causes us to think before we speak and take our thoughts captive before acting out on a situational or relational que. Our lives automatically move away from sin, not through our performance because surely we all fall short, but we move away from it by right-believing and focusing on His Word for our lives. So for me this means that I choose to focus on His truths which result in loving the me He created, and meant for me to be. When I do this, I reject any lie or trick from the enemy who accuses me that somehow I am not enough ... that I can never be a good christian (like there can be anything other than a good christian ... think about that for just two seconds and you can see how subtle, yet insidious, the lies of the devil are.) ... that I will always fall as short as my physical stature. Well to the devil I turn my back, I reject His lies and stand on the truth. The truth of His character, is in me as I right-believe that He abides in me and me in Him. And, so the focus on my relationship with Jesus results in exhibiting the character of the Holy Spirit: love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Gal 5:22-23). Remember, that even good and best friends can disappoint you (Psalm 118:8) and a friend can influence your life for the better for sure ... but no human friend can ever totally transform your life from the inside out in the way Jesus Christ does. And His truth never changes and God cannot lie ... so if you want the fruits of the Spirit ... consult and listen to the Spirit who holds them in trust for you. BELIEVE and step out in faith to do that thing your own thoughts tell you that you cannot do.
