Proverbs 27: 4-5 4 Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy? 5 Better is open rebuke than hidden love. 6 Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses. #Bible Yesterday we shared on managing people and we learnt that, one way to effectively manage people is to value them. Treat them as your greatest assets, because they are. People need to be needed, give them that. Some of us just use people without considering relationship/friendship. One interesting thing in the new testament is how Jesus related with His disciples. He had nicknames for them. Mark 3: 14 14 He appointed twelve [a] that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach 15 and to have authority to drive out demons. 16 These are the twelve he appointed: Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter), 17 James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them he gave the name Boanerges, which means “sons of thunder”). Jesus didnt relate with the disciples like a boss, but as a friend. He gave some nicknames, just us we do with our friends. Learn to flow and smile with all. Also, give people the benefit of the doubt, until they prove otherwise. Give people a chance, an opportunity to prove themselves, never disregard them. Also, mix grace with truth. Grace comes before truth. Sometimes you must allow the people in your life make mistakes, before you can correct them. One other thing, speak the truth in love. Let your intention be to help change whoever youre correcting or advising. And when conflict arises, apply the Biblical way of conflict resolution: go to the person and talk with him alone, if he doesnt listen, go with a trusted friend or two, if he still wont listen, go with the elders of the church.
