Weather Situation A slow moving high over southern Australia will strengthen during the remainder of this week, extending a firm ridge into much of Queensland. A series of weak upper level troughs will move east over southern Queensland during the forecast period. A stronger upper level trough is expected to develop over northern and eastern Queensland during the weekend. Forecast for the rest of Friday Isolated showers about the east coast and nearby inland, more frequent about the north tropical and central coasts. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. A warm day with above average temperatures through much of the state. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds, strong and gusty at times near the far north tropical coast. ________________________________________________ Todays official forecast for the Herbert and Lower Burdekin and surrounds.
