The link is below so please click and donate.. On 26 September 2014 I will attempt to scale the three highest peaks in the UK in just 24 hours! Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and finally Snowdon in Wales. All funds raised through this challenge will go towards WaterAid’s programme work in Nepal, transforming the lives of people with access to clean water and toilets. Around 3.2 million people have no access to clean water and 8,000 children under five die every year from diarrhoea in Nepal. The money raised will go towards a project that WaterAid in Nepal has developed that reaches communities that lie deep inside the rural hills of the Sankhuwasabha District in Eastern Nepal. Here, communities are subject to the poorest water in the country. This desperate situation means villagers are left to use water so dirty it can make their children sick, and thousands have no toilet or awareness of good hygiene to keep themselves and their families healthy. The castes that live in these rural hills have long been excluded from society and neglected by government funding to aid development. Through this project, we are educating and inspiring these communities to access their right to water and helping them to sustain that access for the long term. Over 6,500 people, including school children, will benefit from access to safe water through this project, and over 10,000 will have access to safe toilets.
