Good morning everyone . first off I would like to say that I am happy to be home from Dallas and I truly had a wonderful time in the Lord. Now since I didnt do my Keep It Real Monday I have to do it today. when we talk about training our children in the right way what does that truly mean? I am a single mother of five children and often times my children fuss and complain about going to church and doing church activities. I was raised in the church and my mother had us all in the church every time the doors where open. My mother was strict and at times I felt we were not allowed to do what the other kids could do, but now I understand that it was for my good because now I am a Choir director , Praise team leader, and youth leader . think about it if I didnt have any training in the word and in the church I wouldnt function in my gift placement. Now a days it seems we are giving the children choices on whether or not they go to church and do activities. Parents why is that ? Have we gotten to the point that we dont care about the church of today, because believe or not our children depending on us as parents now are our Preachers, Missionaries, Mothers, Evangelist, and Elders. So how can they learn 1. we need to set better examples for our children. 2. Im not saying beat them to do but show them that being saved is not a chore, and that you can be saved and have fun in the Lord. 3. stop making excuses for the things you do , believe it or not it leaves room for more excuses and eventually you find yourself in a loss. Training them up in the way He should go , I am not saying it wont be some struggles because even with my own children I go through but as a Parent I will do my best so they are without excuse. Ask yourself this question ... Am I setting my children up for failure? am I truly encouraging my children to be saved? am I leading a good example in the church and at home? Do I push my children to be great in the church ? We must remember when we make decisions for our children heart fully we do it to help them not to hurt them. So why when it comes to church and God we are in a whatever mode? I want to say lets start encouraging our children more in the church not just sports, dancing , and other activities outside of the church please. they truly are our church of today and with out training the church will fail.
