Good showing at the developer led meeting regarding the high density projects in Yorba Linda off Highland and Blair. See prior posts. Now everyone has to go to the Council meeting next Tuesdsy and ask why they are hiding the rezoning of these properties from residential estate to high density in the general plan update. Not only is this against voters wishes when Measure B passed but it is as non transparent as it comes. Also ask to see if they will put a measure on the ballot to revise Measure b. YL should be divided into 1-3 voting areas to allow residents in the immediate areas to decide development issues. This would eliminate the east vs west voting patterns we have seen. On a political note, why is recently defeated Council member Rikel now speaking out on these high density projects when while she was on Council she endorsed measures h & I. This included using her image for the developer mailers, which increased the densities on many properties in YL. By clumping all the properties into two measures, it pitted east vs west and undermined the integrity of measure B. Opportunist,hypocritical and untrustworthy are adjectives that come to mind.
