Good talking, Bad working! MONEY is LAW! Nice Business! I have obtained more experience on Malaysian Police and new experience on Malaysian Army. Once again facing a situation at Kuala Lumpur International Airport after 6 days. It happened on 15 January when I was coming back home from KLIA after escorting my friend. A police man and two army shoulders were seating beside exit door to Bus station. The police man called us. Asked to show passport or other documents. He talked with my friend in Malay language. But I didnt understand. When he knew that I am student, he started speaking in English. He asked me to show my ID card, I showed it. He asked me again to show college letter, I showed also it. He asked me to take seat beside him, I took seat. After having seat he explained nicely that International Student and worker cant cross 20 k.m from his or her institution or working place without company permission letter. ---Conversation--- Police: International Student and worker cant cross 20 k.m from his or her institution or working place Me: Is it new law? Police: Yes, it shows at TV3 on 8pm everyday Me: Sorry, I dont watch TV3. I have no knowledge about this law. Next time I will be careful insaallah. Police: We are indeed in operation against illegal immigrants. We are doing with together (army and police). We can arrest you. Me: Ok, if I did wrong you can arrest me. But I dont have knowledge about the new law, thats why you can help me as first time. Is this law for students also? (I asked again) Police: Yes, this law is for all immigrants. # After sometimes, another police man came and took our documents. The first police man asked us to follow him. We followed police man to under a staircase. I saw there is one more police man. He was taking money from other people. I think those people are Indonesian. # Now two police men. A police man talking with me and the another police man talking with my friend. ----Me and the Police---- Police: your ID card for your college, not for other side. You have also letter but you dont have permission letter for coming Airport. So I will arrest you. If I will arrest you, you have to be 3 months in prison and you have to pay 3000 ringgit as fine. Do you want to go to prison (like previous situation) Me: please contact with my university. And you help me please. Police: No, I cant help you. Me: Now what can I do? # After sometimes, the two police men checked our bodies. Asked us to take out what we have in our pocket. We showed them everything. A police man opened my friends pants. He also asked me but I didnt open and he also didnt emphasise me. Both police men asked to give money rm200 for two people. After discussing sometimes I gave them RM 50 and my friend gave RM 100. COMMENT: # Why malaysian police like this? People know that Army doesnt corrupt but I saw army help police to do corruption. # We are legal, but why police took money like robbers? If we did wrong they should take us to court. But they doing business. This is good business. I think Malaysian government doesnt pay salary enough. Thats why they rob foreigners. # The difference between two situations police- The police men of first incident of 9 January are not courtesy, they didnt talk nicely. The police men of second incident talked nicely. Similar that Both are interested to people money. --Attention please-- Still I like Malaysian people. Bcz, People are very nice. I think these are isolated incidents. Note: I have talked with international student unit of my university.
