Got a Samsung Galaxy the other day for testing EPUB and DPS - TopicsExpress

Got a Samsung Galaxy the other day for testing EPUB and DPS projects. So far, Im not impressed. Im not an Apple zealot but I must admit that the iPad and iPhone are far superior in many ways. Im still learning more about Android and the Galaxy, but I keep running into limitations and barriers. I guess it wouldnt matter if I had started on Android, but Ive had an iPad and/or iPhone for many years now. I first started with a Samsung Windows phone back in 2005 and was very happy with that device until I broke the charging port one day. At the time I was a full-time Windows user and the Windows phone made my life very simple. I could transfer Word or Excel files, contacts, and myriad other items to the phone and they worked seamlessly. Ive since switched full time to Macintosh and iPhone and dont have such an easy time. Apple decided a long time ago to lock down their phone and make hard to use the device the way YOU want it to. For example, you cant simply transfer a file over to it to carry it with you as a portable hard drive. There is no file browser for iPhone or iPad. Why not? Ive got 16GB on the phone, sometimes I dont want to tote along a Flash drive or portable hard drive. Just the fact that my phone cant accept memory chips is very frustrating. My old Samsung accepted SD cards giving me almost unlimited storage. I bought a 32GB card and carried lots of music with me but could swap it out in a second to insert another chip with business files on it. Thats convenience and flexibility all in one package. The Galaxy tablet does accept external memory cards. So, 1-point for Galaxy. As I test the Galaxy and Android operating system, Ill report my findings and impressions. samsung/latin_en/consumer/mobile-devices/tablets/galaxy-tab/GT-P5210ZWATPA
