Got assets and inventory counted and logged in for the ministry. Now that we are a nonprofit ministry through the state, we still have to file for tax exempt as a 501c3 through the IRS. Doing so will open up some opportunities that we need for our type of entity. The cost is $800. We hope to have the funds available through student tuition, T-shirt sales, concession sales at the Natural State Classic if granted the opportunity, etc. This is a big step for Defenders of the Faith Martial Arts Ministry as we begin to step out and get prepared to engage the community in which we live. It has been a learning process in which we are carefully navigating and putting together a plan in which others can easily follow to set up their own ministry. We are developing resources such as lesson plans, fundraising tips, plans for setting up a school, etc. The purpose for all of this is to have resources available so that when a new school opens up under Karate for Christ, we can help relieve the burden of setting up a school. All the new instructor has to worry about is what he does best, teach karate. All that being said, please pray for us as we continue to move forward at our location at Landmark Baptist Church as we reach out and engage the community and share with them the Gospel of Christ.
