Got done with my Federal Rules requirement and now for a week of vacation! ( some might say, I am always on vacation) Where am I going this week? To the best place ever. The joy of.... family. Kara is hear.. Zack, My nephew is hear.. Everyone is hear.. As we heard from some parts of their lifes... We had our first worldview conversation ( surprise..) That happened to start with how Gavin thinks the girl in Hunger Games is annoying. Which lead to, what kind of hero the lady from the new hunger games movie is....( only two people have seen it, Gavin-not being one of them-read the books) Is she annoying, is she realistic, etc... Which lead to, weather Captain America is realistic, or an ideal or not...... Which promoted me to take the position that there have been a lot of Captain Americas...in Americas past... Which lead my Jr. in High School to point out bad stuff about Americas past that he learned, from a classic book that was mandatory in advanced history, in school, that was written by a socialist author. The Jungle And during the conversation....proof from him that the socialist part did not stick to American readers is that were not socialist. (Wow- I have some work to do. For a kid to State that he learned were not socialist --after being taught that from a teacher, working in a centralized National School system, run by a handful of people in D.C.? Wow. ) Then Giles suppressed us all when he came rolling in at 10pm! Which moved to his marketing class on him having to film some clips for a commercial of a marketing class on a back pack..... We then spent the next hour laughing and, brainstorming on angles to sell the backpack....( Non of it helpful to Giles because he already has to go with a plan) It was late so more to discuss and laugh about over what is probably going to be one of my best vacations ever. On the docket? Showing my kids some of this Historical video series, of what it means to be American and the ideas that lead to some real Captain Americas. ( only some because my wife keeps me in balance- but Christmas break is coming up) Showing them some clips--movies, news, etc...that has hit me over the past few weeks.... All of us seeing this hunger game thing, sometime. Our movie student...Zach wants to see Home-front. so thats two movies dates. The door is open if anyone wants to pop in and hang at the best place on the planet.... ( I have wondered if God laughs? They dont record Jesus laughing--that I know of...But in our humanness if laughter is Gods gift of a peace of heaven while we live through our sinful and wrongheaded world we made? Anyway I am Thankful to God, when we can go from a very serious conversation....To a playful one and I can hear them laugh while I hear, not just Genius ideas flow, but so creative. Keep your resorts, I am in paradise.
