Got to sit with Jimmy Page today to talk about his remarkable life in music. With deluxe editions of Zeppelin IV and Houses of the Holy coming out, and a beautiful photo autobiography (pictured), he was an absolute gentleman. Just relaxed and excited to talk about so many things. At one point, we were looking at a photo taken in 1974 at the Swan Song label launch in Los Angeles, where various celebrities mingled with the music scene. Atlantic Records Founder Ahmet Ertugun was holding court. Clearly, Led Zeppelin had officially arrived in Hollywood. He described meeting Groucho Marx that night, and that Groucho had a unique way of signing autographs - he would trace the outline of your hand, and then sign it. At the end of our meeting, Jimmy did that same thing in my copy of his book. What a kind and generous person. Something Ill never forget.
