Government denies democratic rights to separatist: National Front =>Despite the repeated statements from the head of a government department that pro-freedom leaders will not be arrested, the continuous detention of frontline political leadership is a Himalayan proof of the fact that Kashmiris are denied their democratic rights on the institutional level. Jammu Kashmir National Front spokesman has said that the continuous detention of JKNF chairman and Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir leader, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Shabir Ahmad Shah and Mushtaq-ul-Islam has exposed the statements of Indian collaborators and it also has proved that they have accepted their defeat by the hands of pro-freedom leadership on the political front. “Democracy is the name of a situation where all the political forces are provided free atmosphere to reach to the people and put forward their view but the Indian democracy is limited up to Lakhanpore only so Kashmiris only witness the hooliganism on part of India,” the spokesman said adding that election in this kind of atmosphere is nothing but a joke in the name of democracy. He said that Kashmir is witnessing an army operation in the name of elections and just as in an army operation every possible step is taken to curb the opposite party, India and its local collaborators are busy in curbing the unarmed Kashmiri people and such a situation is created in which people are compelled to participate in the election drama. He said that the so called government has activated its armed forces and they have spread a reign of terror throughout valley by arresting and harassing the political activists and the youngsters. However, the spokesman praised the common people for successfully safeguarding the political aspect of the Kashmir dispute by resisting all the pressures and government highhandedness. Terming the ongoing curbs as a handiwork of pro-India politicians, the spokesman said that these so called politicians who work as the Indian collaborators do not deserve any vote or support of the people.
