Grace Klaassen Below is what I wrote as a comment on the Iowa speech. Thanks to the post on William Landers Facebook page: ameribornnews/2015/01/24/11931/. And please give us your comments on what you found to be the most quotable quotes or the greatest applause lines. I am interested in the crowd response mostly because I want to see people hearing and learning and getting behind the ideas that Gov. Huckabee presents, because they will help unify, preserve and protect, and save this great nation--America. He has found the soul of America in the great Bubbaland, not in Washington or New York or Hollywood. And that is where my concerns and prayers lie, and why I am glad now that Mike Huckabee chose to write his latest book. I havent gotten to read it yet, but I think I can understand better, after this speech in Des Moines, Iowa. This was my comment: I did not get to watch the speech when it was being given, but thank you so much for posting Gov. Mike Huckabees entire speech. Not only was it an amazing speech, filled with his wonderful blend of humor, humility, honor, and hope; it was a message filled with great quotable quotes. I hope to find a transcript soon, but one quote that will be repeated often regards the Presidents State of the Union speech, in which Obama said that the greatest threat to America is climate change. Huckabee put this into perspective by saying, Mr. President, I believe most Americans would think that a beheading is a far greater threat to an American than a sunburn. Huckabee had other great quotes I want to read and repeat, including those about the Constitution, about the need for the Fair Tax, about changing the great imbalance of judicial powers and President Obamas I have a phone and a pen attitude, about helping people look for the maximum wage instead of the minimum wage, and about recognizing and opposing the great evil of those jihadists whose only goal is to take your life and mine. But the most touching to me was the quote at the end of the speech. Gov. Huckabee compared the ease of what he did as a FoxNews show host, and the somewhat hard job of campaigning, and the really hard job of governing with the amazing dedication of those Americans who live and die to protect and preserve America. When a Green Beret soldier approached Gov. and Janet Huckabee in an airport and said, Lots of my friends appreciate you for standing up for us, Huckabee replied, Im thanking you. I havent done anything. Youre the ones. He added, What they [the soldiers] do is the impossible. It is interesting to watch the body language of the crowd, knowing that many came to Des Moines to support another possible candidates speech. But this speech by the next Great Communicator ended with a standing ovation. As well it should have. - Grace Klaassen
