Grail Consciousness is a perception of reality that includes its existential depth as we encounter it in the moment. We look beyond our own thoughts and see in this moment what might be described as the miraculous passing of time – the mystery of existence as best as we can experience it, and of which we are part. (Time and existence are inextricably joined.) Grail Consciousness is not satisfied with surface level perceptions, be they fact or illusion. It utilizes a quiet of mind that enhances our awareness of the moment. Aware of our intellectual limits, it compensates for those limits (one might say transcends them) by tapping into the subjectivity of conscience, thereby sharpening our awareness of the here and now, without thoughts getting in the way. Conscience is an important part of who we are that adds to the wholeness of our experience. It allows us to more fully see, listen, question, intuit meaning and discern the mystery. The aim of Grail Consciousness is to achieve what Kierkegaard described as “a deeper immersion in existence.” Conscience is an indispensable part of that, for it brings a subjectivity that would otherwise be lacking.
