So this means that instead of a Pope as head of the church, or Nations with a king, The two horn, Spiritual and temporal powers of the United States would be more cleaver I, E, Lamb- like powers, Religion and State, Evolution and Atheism of today. The likeness of the dark ages grown into speaking as a dragon in a different way from the Roman Empire, I.E. walk in a more lamb like way. (Copied in part from the Schofield reference Bible) Nebuchadnezzar, as interpreted by Daniel gives the course and end of the times of the gentiles (Luke 21:24 and Rev. 16:19) that is of gentile world-empire. The four metals composing their image are explained as symbolizing (Dan2:38-40) four empires, and fulfilled in Babylon, Media and Persia, Greece (Under Alexander) and Rome. The smiting stone (Daniel 2:34-35) destroys the gentile world system (in its final form) by a sudden and irremediable blow, not by the gradual processes of conversion and assimilation! Then and not before, does the stone become a mountain which fill the whole earth: (Daniel 7:26-27 such a destruction of the gentile monarchy system did not occur at the first advent of Christ. But Christ was put to death by the sentinel of an officer of the furuncle empire, which was then at the zenith of its power. Since the crucifixion the Roman Empire has followed the course marked out in the vision, but gentile world domination still continues and the crushing blow is still suspended. The detail of the end-time is given in Daniel 7:1-2 8 and Revelation 13:13-18 compare Dan2:31; Rev 13:14-15 Deterioration by admixture; the iron of the Roman imperious mixed with the clay of the popular will, fickle and easily molded. Monarchs who with the Republic of France and the despotism of Turkey cover the sphere of ancient roman rule. One can start in Gen4:1-3 4-6 and recognize the beginning of the developing of the Anti-Christ. The thoughts had come into Cain’s mind that he should do his way of thinking instead of doing God’s will, which is the spirit of the Anti-Christ.
