Grants Pass, OR - The Josephine County Sheriffs Office, as well as most law enforcement agencies, use social media as a way to assist in quickly getting information out to the public. We give information on Sheriffs Office activities, missing persons, evacuations and other emergencies. The publics assistance is appreciated when they can provide useful information on the issue being posted. Recently we have had some problems with people posting reports on our Facebook page instead of directing those comments to appropriate places. The social media site is not meant to be a place to report crimes or to post opinions or political comments. Please use regular channels to report a crime or to ask questions. You can file reports with the Sheriffs Office through the Josephine County Sheriffs Office website at jocosheriff.us where there is a link for reporting crimes. You may also call or email. That information is also available on the website. The Sheriff makes every attempt to follow up on those reports and questions. We appreciate your assistance and the help that the public provides when there is an emergency in progress.
